Cold Laser

What is laser therapy?

Therapeutic medical lasers heal tissue ailments by injecting billions

of photons of invisible laser light deep into tissue structures. Human

tissue naturally contains protein strands called chromophores,

which have the unique ability to absorb laser light energy and

transform it into chemical energy. This chemical energy is utilized

by the tissue to signifi cantly accelerate the healing process in the

body naturally.

How does laser therapy work?

Therapeutic lasers work by supplying energy to the body in the

form of photons of light and allowing the body to effect its own

repairs. Therapeutic lasers load light energy into the cells and

organize a series of cellular energetic and biochemical reactions

that promote and support the regeneration of cells, collagen

production and the formation of new tissues. This process reduces

pain and infl ammation, improves blood fl ow, stimulates collagen

production and accelerates healing. Generally speaking, the

biostimulating effect of laser therapy is in its anti-infl ammatory,

analgesic and anti-edematous effect on tissues. There is absolute

increase in microcirculation, higher rates of ATP, RNA and DNA

synthesis, and thus better tissue oxygenation and nutrition. There is

also an increase in the absorption of interstitial fl uid, better tissue

regeneration and stimulation of the analgesic effect.

How can laser therapy help me?

Laser therapy offers a safe and non invasive treatment in healing

damaged tissues such as muscle, nerve and bone tissues, and skin.

To reach damaged tissue deeper inside the body, lasers need higher

peak power of penetration. Devices of greater power can provide

better penetration. The peak power of the laser is the most critical

factor in providing adequate depth of penetration. Thus, devices by

USA Laser, which are true pulsed systems, have better penetration

versus continuous wave devices because they have greater peak

powers.

Is laser therapy safe?

Clinical studies show that laser therapy achieves excellent outcomes

in wound healing, reduction of infl ammation and in pain relief. Laser

therapy is painless, non invasive or in any way abrasive to tissues.

It does not cause any trauma or damage to the tissues. Therapeutic

level laser light is cold and does not heat-damage or traumatize

treated tissues in any way. Laser therapy is totally painless, non

ablative, non invasive and non traumatizing.

Are there any harmful side effects?

Therapeutic lasers are becoming increasingly popular as they offer

effective and side effect free pain relief. Even people with persistent

and intractable chronic pain that did not respond to other treatments

are likely to respond well to laser therapy by reducing infl ammation

and swelling and accelerated wound healing, including healing

of stubborn leg ulcers, diabetic foot problems and pressure sores.

As well laser therapy can speed up recovery and healing of sports

injuries and is very useful to people actively participating
